BEN HOGAN - Apex Edge (2001)

Introduction

The Ben Hogan Apex irons are some of the most beautiful clubs I have ever seen in my life. When I first saw them in 2001 and could not believe how good a cavity back iron could be.

Small it is not. It offers a lot of confidence at address while maintaining a rounded appearance.

There is something special about a forged club. You don't have to worry about parts falling off and it doesn't look glued together.

I still maintain that the 1988 Ben Hogan "Redline" irons are more amazing, but I am struggling to think of a better looking wide-sole cavity back.
