Here is an iconic shape that has lasted more than half a century
This jumbo persimmon I feel is better described as a deepface persimmon. Because it is from the 1980s it drives the question of new vs old. Funny, clubs from the 1980s are not exactly new yet the debate rages on.
Hitting this, it looks pretty small. It does have a deep face but not much of a footprint at address.
That deep face is commanding and builds confidence when it is in my bag. In my mind, this is a club to be played not collected and that is what makes it great. I am more comfortable playing this than an M09 LFF of the 1950s.
